L. Nelson began teaching in 1988 at Salt Lake Community College. She reopened
department and developed an 23-course curriculum with three certifications.
She was also an adjunct instructor through the graphic design department.
In 1990 she was hired by Granite School District to teach Graphic Arts and
Multi-media. She has taught concurrent enrollment with Salt Lake Community
College since that time. Ms Nelson has a B.A. in English from the University
of Utah, a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from Utah State University (Aug.
2001) , and a MC in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix
(Dec. 2001). She also has a MAEd in Secondary Education from the University
of Phoenix (2005). She is also licensed through the State of Utah as a Licensed
Professional Counselor. She is currently a doctoral
student at Capella University studing online course development. She has presented
at a variety of conferences including the Cooperative Learning Conference,
Concurrent Enrollment Conference, and Utah Counseling Association's annual
